Ukraine, together with NATO allies, will conduct Coherent Resilience 2020 command and staff exercise in October, which will focus on countering hybrid threats in the Black Sea region, the Army Inform reported.

According to Andrii Klymenko, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Maidan of Foreign Affairs, on October 21, ships of the Standing NATO Mine Counter Measures Group Two (SNMCMG2) entered the Black Sea: the Italian flagship and supply ship ITS Vesuvio (A5329), the Turkish minesweeper TCG Amasra (M266), the Spanish minesweeper ESPE Sella (M32) and the Italian minesweeper ITS Numana (M5557).

“The scenario is based on the elements of a collective defense operation provided by the Article 5 of the Washington Treaty, as well as the tactical framework of the exercises for landing operations in the face of a hybrid threat of conventional and paramilitary forces. The purpose of the exercises, which involved the permanent naval mine action group, is to increase the level of interaction, as well as improving the planning and command of the joint forces,” the report said.

The exercises will be held from October 21 to 27.

As The Journalist reported, Ukraine-US-Romania joint military exercises took place in the Black Sea region.
