As of July 2, Ukraine experienced a sharp increase in the number of new coronavirus cases with another 889 people being infected. Most of all new cases were recorded in Lviv, Rivne, Zakarpattia, Volyn, Donetsk regions and in the city of Kyiv, according to the data provided by the National Security and Defense Council.
In total, Ukraine already has 45,887 COVID-19 cases, of which 1,185 people became victims of the disease and more than 20,000 have recovered. In particular, over the past day 12 people died and 505 people recovered.
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitalii Klitschko, said that over the past day another 104 people from Kyiv had been infected and three had died. In total, 111 residents of the capital died due to the virus during the pandemic. Today in the capital there are already 5,242 confirmed cases of the disease.
