Ukraine records worst corn harvest in past five years

Ukrainian farmers have harvested the smallest corn harvest in 5 years this year. It was reported by agronews.

So, as of November 19, 24.5 million tons of corn were harvested from an area of ​​4.7 million hectares.

To plan to harvest corn from 5.451 million hectares. At the current level of productivity, farmers can still harvest about 4 million tons of corn.

Thus, the corn harvest for the year will be less than 30 million tons. For example, last year the corn harvest amounted to 35.88 million tons.

“A significant decrease in corn has become a factor in the formation of the world price for this crop. At the same time, the harvesting work in Ukraine for corn and soybeans has not yet been completed. Therefore, the final conclusions on the volume of the corn crop in Ukraine can be made after the completion of the harvesting work, “the message says.
