Ukraine’s government approves development program for Carpathians

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the State Program for the Development of the Ukrainian Carpathian Region in 2020-2022.

According to the Government, the program is aimed at improving the social and economic development of the Ukrainian Carpathians, increasing transport accessibility in certain mountainous areas.

It includes a wide range of issues: building roads, creating new jobs, developing tourism in the Carpathians, located, in particular in Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and Chernivtsi oblasts.

As The Journalist reported, State budget allocates UAH 4.5 billion for supporting Carpathians infrastructure.
