The price for 1 hectare of land can be set at USD 1,500 after the law on farmland sale came into force. This was announced by Viktor Vyshnev, General Director of SETAM at a press conference.
According to Vyshnev, the state-owned enterprise already have an understanding of how much farmland should cost in Ukraine, based on rental data in oblasts. Kirovohrad Oblast has the largest farmland rental price – it reaches UAH 7,000 per 1 ha.
“What the Ministry of Economy sets for the start of trading? We’ll see,” Vyshnev said.
