As of August 27, Ukraine’s agrarian sowed winter rapeseed for the 2020 crop on an area of 630,000 ha, which is 59% of the forecast. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
According to the press service of the ministry, the farmers collected 39.2 million tons of grain. In addition, 39.1 million tonnes of early grain and legumes from 9.9 million hectares; 6,000 tons of buckwheat from 5,000 hectares; 50,000 tons of millet from 27,000 hectares; 121,000 tonnes of sunflower from 81,000 ha.
The highest yield of grain and leguminous crops was recorded in Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia and Ternopil oblasts. In addition, the largest roll of grain was threshed by farmers in Odesa and Zaporizhzhia – 3.1 million tonnes, Kharkoiv – 2.9 million tonnes, Dnipropetrovsk – 2.7 million tonnes, Mykolaiv – 2.6 million tonnes.
