The Kyiv city authorities are planning to equip the Energia Waste Incineration Plant with a chemical cleaning system, which will significantly reduce the level of harmful emissions. This is reported by the press service of the KCSA.
It is reported that Energia Plant is the only operating waste recycling plant in Ukraine, which has been operating for the past 32 years. In this regard, it is planned to modernize it. In particular, to carry out large-scale overhaul and modernization of filters that will provide temperature regimes of 1,200 degrees, which guarantees the achievement of both environmental standards and the production of 300,000 tons of hot water annually. A feasibility study is being prepared for the implementation of the project, which should become an investment-attractive and ecologically perfect.
It is noted that the introduction of a chemical cleaning system takes about 2 years and the modernization of production equipment is even more long-term process.
“According to estimates about EUR 30 million need to carry out these works,” the message says.
