Unemployment rate in Ukraine decreased by 0.7% over the year. This was reported by the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Tymofiy Mylovanov on Facebook.

“The unemployment rate of the population aged 15-70 years decreased to 7.3% (compared with 8.0% in the Q3 of 2018), at working age – to 7.6%. The number of unemployed people aged 15-70 years old and working age population decreased and formed almost at the same level (1,329 thousand people and 1,328 thousand people, respectively),” Mylovanov said.

According to him, the growth in employment and the decrease in unemployment rate is caused primarily by the continuation of high economic activity.

“The labor market was influenced by a further increase of length of service required for retirement, as well as by high dynamics of growth in the level of wages (real wages in Q3 2019 increased by 9.0%, productivity labor in the Q3 of 2019 increased by 2.5%),” the Minister of Economics summarized.
