The Ukrainian government at the extraordinary meeting held on April 2, adopted a resolution “On Amending Appendix 1 to Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1109 dated December 24, 2019”, which prohibited the buckwheat export to foreign markets. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture.
According to the decree, the licensing and quotas for the buckwheat and peeled buckwheat grain export will be valid until July 1.
“The ban on the buckwheat export is a temporary measure necessary to protect the domestic market (recall that Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan have temporarily closed their borders for the export of buckwheat),” the statement reads.
Also, the ministry noted that the situation in the Ukrainian market is stable.
