The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has reported that Ukrainian labor migrants transferred about USD 12 billion to Ukraine over the past 2019, Hromadske reports.
According to the National Bank, the consistently high volumes of income from labor migrants created a favorable situation in the foreign exchange market over the past year.
The volume of remittances reduced the rate of foreign currencies in 2019: in December, the hryvnia exchange rate rose to UAH 23.2 against 1 U.S. dollar, which is UAH 5 less since the beginning of last year.
As The Journalist reported, NBU set official forex rate to UAH 24,91 to dollar for Jan 31.
