Ukrainian Pavilion opened at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival

Within the framework of the 72nd Cannes International Film Festival, Ukrainian Pavilion began work at the Marché du Film market, the Ministry of Culture reported.

This year, the motives of works by Ukrainian folk artist Maria Prymachenko became the key element of Ukrainian stands at international film markets, and #UkraineIsYourDestination was the main slogan.

“In recent years there have been enormous changes in the Ukrainian film industry. Now, thanks to state support, funding for the Ukrainian film industry has already reached a record amount for our country, about UAH 1.5 billion,” said Culture Minister Yevhen Nyshchuk.

In addition to the national pavilion at the Marchée Film Film Market, at the Cannes Film Festival, Ukraine is represented by the movie “Home” by director Nariman Aliyev, which will be shown in the Special Look program, and by Dekele Berenson’s film “Anna” (created in Ukraine, Israel and the UK), which is selected in the competition program of short films.
