On Saturday, May 11, Ukrainians will be able to check the health of gums free of charge in more than 300 clinics for free. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
May 11 is European Day of Healthy Gums, initiated by European Federation of Periodontologists. Given that gum disease is the most common cause of dental loss, it was decided this year to check the gums free of charge and undergo a paradontal screening test.

The press service of the Ministry of Health noted that the most common diseases of the gums are gingivitis and periodontitis. Their first symptoms are redness and swelling, bleeding during tooth brushing, unpleasant smell or taste in the mouth. If you do not pay attention to them, the next step may be the lowering of the gums and the loss of the tooth. Therefore, experts advise not to slow down and promptly turn to doctors. After all, periodontitis can lead not only to the loss of teeth. Bacteria that arise from this disease can enter the bloodstream through gum tissue and cause serious health problems.
