The Ukrainian writer Tania Maliarchuk was awarded with the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize, during the Festival of German-Language Literature in the Austrian city of Klagenfurt.
Ukraine’s Ambassador to Austria, Olexander Scherba reported this on Twitter.
«Sensation! Ukrainian Tania Maliarchuk won the The Ingeborg Bachmann Prize, one of the biggest prizes of German-language literature. Truly proud of her. Congratulations!» – Mr Scherba said.
INFO: The Ingeborg Bachmann Prize was founded in 1977 in honor of one of the Austria’s most famous writers. The award ceremony has taken place annually in the Austrian city of Klagenfurt. The prize winner is determined during a three-day reading event in which the invited candidates present their literary contributions (must be German), which have to be unpublished. The prize winner receives € 25,000 (approximately $29,000)
As «The Journalist» reported, the author of the book about the Ukrainian national movement has became the laureate of the Ivan Franko Prize.
