During the multinational competition Cambrian Patrol held in Great Britain the day before, the Ukrainian paratroopers won honorable silver. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

«The Cambrian Patrol, an annual international exercise, was completed on the elevation of the Black Mountains massif near the town of Brecon, in the south of the Powys region in Wales, Great Britain. During the week, 127 teams from 27 countries have demonstrated their skills in passing an 80-kilometer march, performing various combat missions. The Ukrainian paratroopers outstripped 13 teams, eight of which subsequently dropped out of the race,» the statement said.

«The distance changed from 80 to 95 kilometers, we were forbidden to use navigation devices and also there were some unexpected surprises for us,» said the captain of the Ukrainian team.

It is known that every year more and more international participants join the competition. The Cambrian Patrol competition was held in 1959 for the first time, when a group of Wales Territorial Defense Army servicemen developed a weekend training course: a long distance march across the Cambrian Mountains, ended at the SennybridgeTraining Area.

«The Cambrian Patrol International Competition is considered to be one of the most challenging in Europe. Not everyone could overcome this distance, and not everyone gets the top places during the competition,» the Ministry said.

As The Journalist reported, Ukraine won the first gold medal at Invictus Games.
