In 2019, the government plans to significantly increase the salaries of military personnel. As the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak said, ordinary Ukrainian soldiers instead of 7.3 thousand hryvnia will receive more than 10.
In an interview with "Government Courier" the head of the defense department called the salary increase a military indicator of the state’s respect for people in uniform.
“For example, until recently the brigade commander in Ground Forces received about 18 thousand, will soon receive more than 25 thousand, and in the marines and DSHV — almost 28 thousand hryvnias. An ordinary soldier received at least 7.3 thousand hryvnia, and now – more than 10 thousand,” explained Poltorak.
The minister also noted that wages will increase both for the flight personnel and for specialists who guarantee safety of flights – they plan to provide this category with housing.
