The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has allowed to Ukrainians to exchange old-fashioned passports in the form of a passport book for an ID-card with a contactless electronic carrier, Ukrainian News reported.
«Starting from November 1, 2018, citizens of Ukraine will be able at will to exchange passport in the form of a booklet for a passport in the form of a ID card at any time,» the message says.
It is noted that the corresponding amendments were made to the resolution No.302 of March 25, 2015 on approval of the sample form, technical description and Order of registration, issuance, exchange, transfer, withdrawal, return to the state, the destruction of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine.
It is emphasized that the old-style documents will be valid until expiration date.
As The Journalist reported, Ukraine and Moldova may conclude an agreement on crossing the state border on ID-cards.
