On the night of January 21, a rare phenomenon could be observed from the territory of Ukraine – an eclipse of the moon, accompanied by its staining in an orange-red color – the so-called “bloody super-moon”. About this reports Hromadske.
A total eclipse can be observed in North and South America, Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, France and Spain. The rest of Europe and Africa observed only a partial lunar eclipse.
The eclipse occurred during the super-moon period, when the moon was as close as possible to the Earth, due to which it looked 8% larger.
The next total lunar eclipse will take place on May 26, 2021.
