State plans to privatize Ukrgasbank by the end of 2019. This was reported in the Ministry of Finance (Ministry of Finance) in response to the request UNN.
«The basis for strategic reform of the state banking sector, a certain need to ensure the withdrawal from the capital of JSB Ukrgasbank until the end of 2019», Ministry explained.
It is known that the Ministry of Finance has already fulfilled the requirements of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry, Ukrgasbank and International Finance Corporation (IFC) to support the privatization of the bank in order to increase the investment attractiveness of the financial institution.
According to the Memorandum, the Ministry of Finance: confirms its intention to privatize (sell) Ukrgasbank through the complete alienation of its stake in the bank’s capital through a competitive and transparent sale process to a strategic investor; agrees to ensure that all necessary changes and additions to the current legislation are made to remove obstacles to the planned privatization of the bank; assist in the implementation of Ukrgasbank integrated process of commercialization and reduce the influence of the government, by providing operational autonomy for the formation of strategy and business plans, strengthening the corporate governance of Ukrgasbank and abstaining from directing lending programs.
