Since May 2019, Ukrtransnafta received EUR 4.2 million of compensation from Transneft for pumping low-quality Russian oil into Ukrainian pipelines. This was reported by the press service of the company.
“From May to November 2019, Ukrtransnafta received EUR 4,168,000 of compensation from Transneft for reserving the capacity of the Ukrainian transportation system because of polluted with oil (with high contain of organochlorine compounds) getting into it,” the statement said.
The company added that Transneft continues to reserve the capacities of Ukrtransnafta, so the amount of payments is not final.
It is reported that The amount of payments is determined within the framework of existing contractual relations and depends on the balance of the volumes of low-quality Russian oil in the Ukrainian oil pipeline as of the first day of each month.
