Acting head of the joint-stock company Eugene Kravtsov said that 177 stations need optimization by restructuring, temporary or complete closure, reported The Center for Transport Strategies.
The monitoring initiated by the employees of «Ukrzaliznytsia» showed 177 grain loading stations need to be optimized. It is proposed to completely close 60 stations for cargo operations.
From June 1 to December 1, 2018, 110 stations are expected to be closed. «With the further renewal subject to the required minimum of requests for loading»,- Eugene Kravtsov specified.
Kravtsov also said that 300 stations and 528 at the moment, handle only up to two wagons of grain per day. At the same time, there is a load on the railway infrastructure and considerable expenses are required for their maintenance.
