The Accounting Chamber of Ukraine has reported that due to the necessity of returning significant debts next year, the budget will be reduced in order to implement social and economic costs. This was stated by the Head of the Accounting Chamber, Valeriy Patskan.

«More than 40% of state budget revenues should be allocated to repay and service the public debt, which reduces the budget’s capacity for implementing social and economic costs. And, consequently, decreasing opportunities for increasing pensions, wages and social benefits, as well as for the construction of roads, new schools, hospitals, kindergartens and infrastructure development in general,» – said Patskan.

According to him, in the context of the expected increase in gas tariffs, the addons to the lists of categories of the population and expenditures for which benefits and housing subsidies are provided, the next year’s draft budget provides by 21.2% (15.9 billion UAH) less subventions for the local budgets.

«These data indicate a decrease in number of families, who receive housing subsidies. In this situation, the funds allocated for subsidies should be used as efficiently as possible,» – said Valery Patskan.
