Starting next year, Ukraine’s medical institutions will purchase medical products via Prozorro system.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ukraine signed a memorandum of cooperation with the GMDN international agency.
This decision will allow medical institutions to simplify the procurement process and to prevent corruption.
«Today, we are making a step towards a single medical space with Europe and the whole world,» – the Minister of Health Ulyana Suprun said.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development, until now medical institutions could manipulate technical characteristics and overstate the prices of drug purchases, but with the introduction of a single classifier, this will be impossible.
«The introduction of a single classifier of medical products and its integration into Prozorro system will make it possible to clearly define which medical product is purchased and what characteristics it should have,» – the agency noted.
INFO: The Global Medical Device Nomenclature (GMDN) is a list of generic names used to identify all medical device products. Such products include those used in the diagnosis, prevention, monitoring, treatment or alleviation of disease or injury in humans.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, Prozorro has granted accreditation to the first ten electronic sites for small-scale privatization.
