The construction of a high-speed line connecting Kyiv’s central train station with Boryspil Airport is in full swing. Not far from the runways, piles are hammered into the ground to provide foundation for an overpass, by which express trains will pass over a highway. This is reported by «TSN».
The source reports that the line will pass from the Central Railway Station to the left wing of Terminal D, where the trains will stop. In this section, 3.7 km of new railways should be laid. The project is estimated to cost approximately 550 million USD.
«Works are conducted in accordance with the schedule. The construction project is approved, and all land issues are resolved. Now work is continuing on laying the railway tracks, a platform is constructing near the airport and also piles are hammered to provide foundation for an overpass, which will be traversed by a trains», – the message said.
It is expected that this route will use 13 PESA trains, which will transport about 3.8 million passengers per year. The train ticket will cost 80 UAH. Passengers will be able to get to the airport in 35 minutes.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, that the Kiev airport named after Igor Sikorsky can be closed for a period of a year.
