Until 2022 Ukraine should spend USD 1 billion to repair bridges, said the Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan, 112 Ukraine news agency reported.
According to Omelyan, the program of restoration of Ukrainian bridges until 2022 provides USD 1 billion investment, which will be spent exclusively for repairment of bridges.
«These funds is not enough, but this is a good start,» – the report said.
In addition, it is noted that the cost of rebuilding of bridges is planned to be increased each year due to excise tax on fuel. Thus, since 2020, in order to repair roads and bridges, about UAH 65 billion will be allocated annually.
«Since January 1, we received a road fund of total UAH 32.5 billion exclusively for the road industry. Next year, this amount will be increased by 75%, from the excise tax on fuel. This will be about UAH 50 billion. And from 2020, 100% of the excise will go for the road fund, which means more than UAH 65 billion of financing for roads and bridges every year, starting in 2020,» – Omelyan said.
As The Journalist reported earlier, the Kiev Mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said that the city authorities plan to complete the overhaul of the Shulyavsky overpass within one year.
