Last time the brown bear presence on the territory of the Ukrainian Polissya was recorded in the ХІХ century. Researchers with the help of a hidden camera photographed bear in Chernobyl as early as 2014, but they were able to film the video only now. About this informs the press service of the State Agency of Ukraine for the management of the exclusion zone.
It is reported that in the exclusion zone a video of the movement of a brown bear was filmed.
«In 2003, scientists of the Chernobyl Center for Nuclear Safety, Radioactive Waste and Radioecology, for the first time in many years, recorded traces of the brown bear in the exclusion zone. And already in 2014, with the help of photo-trappers, it was possible to get pictures of the bear and finally prove its existence in this territory. And finally, in the summer of 2018, scientists were able to shoot a predator on video», the report said.
