Epidemic thresholds exceeded in four regions of Ukraine

There is no flu epidemic in Ukraine. But at the same time, epidemic thresholds are exceeded in Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy and Odessa oblasts. This is reported on the website of the Ministry of Health.

Since the beginning of 2019 in Ukraine, more than 176 thousand people have become ill with flu and URTI.
“It is very important to be vaccinated in order to get protection from the flu and serious complications. Over the past week, nearly 1.5 thousand people have received flu vaccines,” the ministry said.
According to the ministry, the incidence of influenza and URTI is 458.2 per 100 thousand of the population, which is 11.7% less than the epidemic threshold in Ukraine. At the same time, epidemic thresholds were exceeded in Chernihiv (by 34.2%), Zhytomyr (13.7%), Sumy (10.7%) and Odessa (2.0%) oblasts.
Eight people have already died of influenza, and since the beginning of the epidemic season, 19 fatal cases have been registered.
1,499 people have now been vaccinated. Since the beginning of the epidemic season, 0.4% of the country’s total population has been vaccinated against influenza.

Earlier, the “Journalist” reported that in Kyiv because of the flu epidemic continue to close school quarantine.
