Yesterday, August 28th, solemn official opening of International Forum of Ukrainian Diaspora Youth Kiev 2018 took place.
According to the president of World Congress of Ukrainian Youth Organizations (WCUYO) Myroslav Gochak, on this day, ten years ago, in 2008, Ukrainian Youth Diaspora began its work at World Congress of Ukrainians.
«It was very difficult to start from the very beginning. Nobody then thought that there would be such results as we have achieved today. First year and a half we had to consolidate – to gather contacts of all Ukrainian youth organizations in the world. In 2013, we created the structure of the Ukrainian youth organizations of the diaspora. Today we celebrate 5 years of our fruitful work and thank all those who took part in our annual forums – diaspora organizations, the leadership of WCUYO, volunteers and all who supported our work here in Ukraine», Gonchak addressed the guests.
Ukrainians from 27 countries came to the forum «Kyiv-2018». During the event, participants were given the opportunity to listen to lectures of famous diplomats, politicians and businessmen, revealing a range of topics about Ukraine’s economic and cultural cooperation with international communities. Within the framework of the visit, guests of Kyiv were able to become participants of festivities dedicated to the 27th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine, to visit unique historical complex Kievan Rus and Mezhyhirya Park, get acquainted with opinion leaders and representatives of cultural community. Presentation of projects at fair of investment proposals was held and contacts were established with representatives of business environment. In continuation of the event it is planned to establish a mass record of Ukraine and a number of cultural events for acquaintance of foreign guests with Ukrainian history and traditions.
Recall, the organizers of the event were World Congress of Ukrainian Youth Organizations in conjunction with Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Kyiv Youth Center and the Kyiv State Administration.
