An action in defense of animal rights took place in Kyiv

In the capital there was an all-Ukrainian action in defense of animal rights, reports 112.Ukraine.

The action began in the afternoon in Taras Shevchenko park, after which participants marched to St. Sofia Square.
Among the activists’ slogans were: «In Ukraine, for the sake of fur, 1750 animals are killed per day!», «There are 300 bears left in Ukraine», «Be their voice!», «They love us, and we do we love them?», «Do not test your lipstick», «For a circus without animals», «Your fur coat screamed before death», «The show should not continue».

At the end of the action, organizers read out 8 requirements. Among them: prohibition of use of animals in circuses and dolphinariums; prohibition of fur farms and dressing stations; prohibition of contact zoos and exploitation of animals for photo services and begging; development of rehabilitation of animals that have suffered from human activities; ban in Ukraine euthanasia as a method of regulating number of homeless animals; introduction in Ukraine of an effective system of control and punishment for cruelty to animals; introduction in «Red Book of Ukraine» of wild animals of natural area of Ukraine, which are on the verge of extinction.

Earlier, The Journalist reported that zoo-protectors urged parliamentarians to pass a draft law on the protection of animals.
