Kyiv Thermal power station-5 will be completely stopped at 00:00 on August 1 due to the lack of an agreement for gas supplies between the municipal enterprise Kyivteploenergo, which since August 1st enters the management of Thermal power stations -5 and -6, and the National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine.
About this informs UNIAN.

It is reported that since May 1st, the city’s heating networks have moved from Kyivenergo (part of DTEK’s largest private energy holding company, businessman Rinat Akhmetov) to the management of the municipal enterprise Kyivteploenergo. From August 1, Kyivteploenergo will also receive generating facilities (Thermal power stations -5 and -6 and Energia plant).

In connection with the stop of one of the heating plants, the authorities of Kyiv warned about the transfer of institutions to autonomous power sources.
It is noted that the management of Naftogas refuses to conclude an agreement for the supply of gas from Kyivteploenergo due to the debts of the previous operator Kyivenergo (the total amount of debt is about UAH 5 billion).
In turn, the city council passed a decision according to which Kyivenergo’s debt obligations are not subject to the transfer of Kyivteploenergo.

Naftogaz believes that Kievteploenergo is provided with an integral property complex for the generation of thermal energy, which means that it becomes the legal successor to Kyivenergo’s debt obligations, which used to be used for this property.

Since August 1st, Thermal power stations -5 and -6 and Energia plant have been transferred to the city administration.

Earlier Journalist reported that Naftogaz is ready to write off debts of Kyivenergo, but for on one condition.
