Security at Kyiv Central Station will be strengthened

The service of the National Police, which will include 50 soldiers of the special forces "TOR" of the Department of Patrol Police of Ukraine will appear at the Central Station. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Yurii Lavrenyuk on his Facebook page.
The report notes that the reason for the strengthening of security measures at the station is increase in the number of thefts and robberies of passengers.

“The central railway station is the hallmark of our capital. It is the center of departure of trains to all corners of our country, Aeroexpress to Boryspil airport and international communication. Recently, however, the crime situation at the station has significantly deteriorated. Single thefts began to acquire a systemic nature, there were cases of open and daring robberies, especially of passengers traveling on international routes,” Yurii Lavrenyuk said.

According to the deputy minister, the order at the station will be established within a month. In addition, will be returned practice of escorting passenger trains by law enforcement officers. Lavrenyuk noted that he intends to take the following measures in all Ukrainian million-plus cities.
