As reported on the website of Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, yesterday, on August 15th, Deputy Minister Natalya Boyko met with the new director of the US Department of Energy’s office at the US Embassy in Ukraine Heather Bell.
During the official conversation, the parties discussed «the implementation of measures to improve the level of energy security of Ukraine and the region as a whole», and also considered «the issues of launching the USAID project» Energy Security through Competitive Energy Markets in Ukraine».
«Joint work with the US on the development of energy infrastructure for integrating Ukraine’s energy system into the European energy space is important for us», deputy minister said.
During the meeting, Natalya Boyko expressed gratitude for the consistency of the United States of America in countering the implementation of the political project for the construction of Nord Stream- 2 pipeline.
According to the deputy minister «one of the main arguments in the confrontation should be the joint expressed solidarity of EU member states on the implementation of the project, namely, to avoid dependence of EU on the import of Russian gas, in particular, on strengthening the dominant position of the OJSC Gazprom in the markets of Central and Eastern Europe».
