As reported on the website of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine (MNREP), by 2030 about 70% of the waste should be recycled or reused. This was told by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Ostap Semerak in the framework of the meeting of the Coordination Council on the implementation of the National Waste Management Strategy in Ukraine until 2030, which took place the day before.
It is known that now only 3% of solid domestic waste is processed in Ukraine.
According to Semerak, the solution of the problem of waste recycling and recycling will allow constructively using natural resources and improving the level of environmental safety.
However, the minister stressed that attracting new investments and political will not be enough to put a new model of waste management into practice – Ukrainians should also be active and work on improving their habitual behavior patterns.
