According to the amendments to the legislation, men will get the right for reduced working day in order to take care of their children. Reducing of the working hours for men with children will be at the expense of the employer. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy.
Based on the results of the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on August 29, the bill, which was developed by the Ministry of Social Policy, was amended to provide additional guarantees for fathers who have children in order they could combine family and work duties.
Thus, the father can ask the employer for a part-time job or to shorten the working day, at the expense of the employer.
«The purpose of the bill is to provide social guarantees to all employees and to avoid gender discrimination, so that parents can fulfill their responsibilities in raising children and caring for them,» – the report said.
The document provides the introduction of appropriate amendments to the Labor Code and to the Law of Ukraine «On Leave.»
