The Security Service of Ukraine intends to block the new list of Internet sites that threaten to the national security of Ukraine. This was announced on the air of one of the TV channels by the head of the Security Service’s Department of counterintelligence protection of national interests in the field of information security, Oleksandr Klimchuk, 112.Ukraine reports.
“The available information indicates that the Russian special services will focus on hybrid aggression: attacks on cyberspace and critical infrastructure objects. And the second vector – informational influences, fake news and attacks on the information space,” said Klimchuk.
According to him, the Russian special services are preparing powerful cyberattacks before the elections in Ukraine and during the elections. Klimchuk said that the Russian Federation is investing heavily in the development of networks of Internet sites that relay propaganda ideas.
“About 2,000 fake accounts were blocked [in social networks – ed.] over the past year, about 200 Internet sites promoting Russian ideology were filed for sanctions. This year, another 100 sites will also be blocked by the closest presidential decree based on the NSDC decision,” Klimchuk stressed.
