Speed control on roads starts in Ukraine on Oct. 8

Starting today, October 8, in places of high accidents risk sections of roads of international importance, patrol officers will start to use the TruCam speed measurement device in order to control the drivers’ compliance with the established speed limits. This is reported by the press service of the patrol police on its official Facebook page.

The TruCam devices will be used only with the placement of special road signs, which will warn about photo-video recording of speed limit violations on sections of international roads and in cities with a high level risk of accidents. At the same time, it is noted that police cars with blue lights turning on will be deployed in the designated places.
During the first week the law enforcement officers will use the TruCam in warning mode. The police note that the device contains an AES encryption algorithm, which makes impossible to interfere with the operation of the system and make any data correction.
Note that the police has published a list of places, where the TruCam devices will be located in Ukraine. In particular, in Kyiv they will be placed only in two places: Mykola Bazhana Ave and Peremohy Ave.
As The Journalist reported, Ukrainian patrols will use TruCam in places of accidents concentration.
