Ukraine: Greenhouse vegetables prices on the rise

The prices for vegetables grown in greenhouses are continues to rise in Ukraine, TSN reported.

“At the wholesale markets cucumber is sold at UAH 45-50 per kilogram, depending on quality, variety and oblast of origin. A kilo of tomatoes costs UAH 50-60,” the report says.

The report notes that since the beginning of the year the vegetables prices jumped by 20%.
According to experts, the main reason for such a sharp rise in price is the reduction of stocks. In this regard, Ukraine has already begun importing greenhouse vegetables from Turkey.
As The Journalist reported, Ukraine’s bread price increased by 22%.
