According to the information on the official website of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the production of the historical adventure drama «Dovbush» has began in Ukraine.
The drama is filmed with the support of the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinema (Goskino). The author of the idea, the co-author of the script and the director of the film is Oles Sanin. The main casts in the film will be performed by Serhii Strelnikov (Oleksa Dovbush), Oleksii Gnatkovsky (Ivan Dovbush) and Dasha Plakhtiy (Marichka).
According to the data provided by the Ministry of Culture, the cost of production of the project totals UAH 86,679,200, of which UAH 65 million were allocated by the Ukrainian state film agency.
«The events of the historical drama take place in the mystical Carpathian mountains in the first half of the XVIII century and tell about the life of Oleksa Dovbush, his uneasy love and his struggling for a worthy destiny for his people; and there the mystery of his immortality settles forever,» – the message says.
It is known that the history of the dramatic life of Oleksa Dovbush will be recreated on the basis of Ukrainian and Polish historical documents.
According to the film’s authors, the drama will feature a large number of unique stunt tricks – actors have been actively preparing for filming and participating in the relevant scenes for several months.
The film premiere is scheduled for autumn 2019.
