The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has streamlined the procedure for remittances. In particular, Ukrainian banks and their customers are allowed to use modern communication technologies Paperless (electronic document management) in transferring of foreign currency. This is reported by the press service of regulator.
The changes made by the National Bank come into force on June 12, 2018. It is noted that the innovations will create opportunities for the application of paperless technologies in the financial services market. As a result, the conditions for expanding the circle of participants of this market will develop. NBU noted that due to the changes, bank customers will be able to submit electronic copies of supporting documents for making foreign currency transfers outside Ukraine from current accounts in foreign currency, and banks will be able to create electronic copies of supporting documents submitted by individuals to turn into paper form for their further storage.
It is also reported that individuals could initiate a transfer of foreign currency outside Ukraine in hryvnia. Also, by the decision of the sender of abroad foreign currency transfer, individuals in Ukraine can receive foreign transfer in UAH.
