Measles infected more than 1,300 people in Ukraine

During the week May 21 – 27, measles infected 1334 people in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

«According to operative data of the public health center of the Ministry of Health, last week measles infected 1334 people – 522 adults and 812 children. Only the intensified immunization can stop the outbreak», – the message said.

According to information on the mid of May, from the beginning of 2018 measles infected more than 15 thousand people in Ukraine. Eight people died because of complications of disease. The greatest number people got measles was recorded in Ivano-Frankivsk, Transcarpathian, Lviv, Odessa and Chernivtsi regions.
As «The Journalist» earlier reported, Transcarpathian region has received 15,000 doses of vaccines against measles and 21,600 doses of pentavalent vaccines.
