On the eve, September 27, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Hrynevych and founder of the public organization «Feel» Andrii Pyshnyi signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, which provides establishment of the process of learning sign language in Ukrainian schools. It is known that within the limits of cooperation 16 thousand schools in the country will receive the corresponding «Stars Alphabet» for studying sign language by schoolchildren. This was reportedon the official website of PR-agency Gres Todorchuk PR.
The memorandum was signed at opening of exhibition of the photo project «Stars Alphabet», participants of which were famous Ukrainians. Media faces showed on the photos all letters of sign language, in which communicate over 223 thousand Ukrainians.
«Alphabet of sign language is created for people with perfect hearing. It was created to teach them to be sensitive. It should appear in every school to become for our children a lesson of inclusion on the way to a tolerant society. At the same time, our project aims to make people with hearing impairments become bolder, so that they stop feeling embarrassed about their illness», said Andrii Pyshnyi.
«One of our priorities today is inclusive education. And for us it is very important that ordinary children and children with special needs can better understand each other. Thanks to the SO «Feel», all the stars who took part in the work on «Stars Alphabet», this poster will be in every educational institution of Ukraine», – said Lilia Hrynevych.
Exhibition «Stars Alphabet», can be visited until September 30 in the Mystetskiy Arsenal.
