The Ukrainian IT sector forms 4% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) and provides work for about 150,000 Ukrainians. This was stated by the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv at a government meeting, UNIAN reports.
“Today the IT sector is 4% of GDP, it is 150,000 workers with very large salaries, which form the middle class. It is necessary to focus on the formation of a system of products in this industry that will allow to increase the efficiency of many other traditional industries several times. Together with the National Bank, we must form the best prerequisites for creating high-paying projects that will create new jobs,” the message says.
At the same time, Kubiv noted that among the priorities of the government are the development of the agro-industrial complex, the IT sector, aircraft building, tourism and infrastructure.
