Donald Trump’s policy towards immigrants caused a storm of protests among the American population. This is reported by NBC.
It is reported that the citizens protesting outside Senate office building in Washington. The action was organized by members of the Women’s March and the Center for Popular Democracy.
Police officers began to detain protesters, charging them with unlawfully demonstrating. According to some sources, around 575 people were detained.
Note that among those arrested were a member of the US House of Representatives, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal. She said that this was not last protest and the next one will be held tomorrow, June 30, across the country.
«As a a member of the US House of Representatives, I refuse to let this president and administration do what they are doing to children, parents and asylum seekers in my name», – Mrs Jayapal stated.
