The member of the Tax Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, MP Mikhailo Golovko, commenting on the record volumes of imports of palm oil to Ukraine, noted that any restriction on the import of products stimulates Ukraine’s domestic oil production. This is reported by UNN news agency.
According to Golovko, the import taxes on palm oil will stimulate domestic production.
«Any import restrictions stimulate own manufacture of any production, including value-added taxб which creates additional workplaces. Also, it is the payment of taxes and is causing a positive impact on the economy in general,» – the deputy said.
The politician also noted that carrying out import substitution strategy is necessary «for every sensible country.»
«In general, the less import of palm oil, the better. It is also harmful to health. This will be useful for our citizens and profitable economically,» – the message says.
In turn, the adoption of the bill as a whole can provoke a rise in price of food products (butter, cheese, sour cream).
As The Journalist reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada proposed depriving non-payers of alimony.
