Over the weekend, on June 2, the inclusive charity festival “DruziFest” took place in Kyiv. The event was dedicated to the International Children’s Day. The festival aims to unite children for creative development and joint leisure.
During “Druzi Fest” opening ceremony Kyiv’s special boarding school No. 18 for children with hearing disabilities the pupils performed the Anthem of Ukraine with a sign language.
This year the children’s holiday was organized by the “Podaryizhyttia”, “Divodiia” NGOs and the charity project “RiyMriy” in cooperation with some medical institutions and philanthropists. A well-known Ukrainian philanthropist, lawyer and human rights activist Valery Syrovatsky also provided support to the children’s charity inclusive festival.
“Right now it is very important to support events intended for uniting and turning attention to socially important questions. “I am sure the development of civic initiatives is the basis for building a socially-sensitive society”, the philanthropist said.
Valery Syrovatsky’s Charitable Foundation and Valeria Medical Clinic, founded by the patron, give continued support to the projects for children.
Thanks to all these people, the “Druzi Fest” pleased children with a number of sports, entertainment and creative locations, such as workshops, quests, a dancing flash mob, concert program, cycle, fashion and chemical shows, including the “Special Cinema” for children with disabilities. The key events were presented by the “Games with Smiles” and the “Roller Starts” competition.
During sports competitions, three winning teams were identified and awarded medals and cups. In addition, Valeria Medical Clinic presented the winners with medical services gift certificates amounting to 1 thousand UAH.
