Together with the increase in electricity prices, water tariffs will rise

In autumn, water tariffs in Ukraine may rise, reports «Hromadske radio».

According to the vice-president of the Association of Vodokanals Olha Babiy, the rise in price is connected with the increase in the cost of liquid chlorine, an increase in electricity prices, inflationary processes and indexation of salaries.

«From September to October this year, due to these factors, we can expect tariff growth by 10-15%», Babiy informed, noting that the cost of liquid chlorine has already affected the corresponding tariffs, which in the near future will grow by 2-3% .

Note that in early July a number of Ukrainian regions were threatened with water supply suspension due to a lack of liquid chlorine. The only manufacturer of the water treatment reagent – the DniproAzot plant – announced a temporary idle time due to high gas prices. On July 20th, the plant restored the production of liquid chlorine.

Earlier «Journalist» reported that tariffs for utilities will continue to grow for three consecutive years.
