WHO: Ukraine leader in measles morbidity in Europe

Over 53,000 people have become ill with measles in Ukraine over the past year, whereas in the whole of Europe – about 82,000. This is stated in the report of the World Health Organization (WHO), BBC reports.
According to the data, the number of measles patients in Europe exceeded 82,000 people in 2018. The share of Ukraine is more than 53,000 cases.
Last year, 72 people died from measles in Europe, 16 of them – in Ukraine. According to WHO experts, the reason for such an outbreak in Ukraine is the low level of vaccination.
As The Journalist reported, in Uzhorod schools quarantine was extended.
