The Minister of Health of Ukraine Ilya Yemets has said that protecting Ukrainians from infectious diseases is one of the key priorities of the new leadership of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.
“For many years, the epidemiological service system of Ukraine has gradually collapsed. Now, especially against the backdrop of counteracting the COVID-19, we understand that the situation needs to be changed. That is why one of the key priorities of the new leadership of the Ministry is restoring of previously destroyed sanitary epidemiological service system to protect Ukrainians from infectious diseases,” Ilya Yemets noted.
Yemets also noted that the deputy minister, chief state sanitary doctor Viktor Liashko, will be the main responsible for the epidemic protection in Ukraine.
