On January 8, the militants violated the cease-fire regime in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area, not using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements. This was reported by the press center of the Joint Forces Operation HQ on its official Facebook page.
"The militants opened fire from grenade launchers of various types and small arms attacking the Ukrainian fortified positions near the village of Novotoshkivske (Luhansk direction)," – said in a statement.
No casualties among the Ukrainian troops have been reported over the past day.
"Units of the Joint Forces conducted an active defense and gave an adequate response to the enemy," the report said.
According to intelligence data, on January 8, two militants were killed and another one was injured.
During the current day the enemy did not open fire.
As The Journalist reported, militants launched five attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas over past day.
