On October 22, the illegal armed formations launched 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area, this time no use of the weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements was detected. No casualties among the Ukrainian ranks reported. This is reported by the press center of the Joint Forces Operation HQ on its official Facebook page.
The enemy opened aimed fire using grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns and small arms. In almost all cases, units of the Joint Forces conducted an active defense and gave an adequate response to the enemy.
The Russian occupation forces shelled JFO positions near the settlements of Schastia, Krymske, Zolote, Pisky, Maryinka, Taramchuk, Berezove, Novotroyitske, Chermalyk and Lebedynske.
«The fortified positions of our [Ukrainian] troops near Schastia were shelling with automatic and heavy grenade launchers for almost three hours. The most intense combat action were reported near Maryinka and Lebedynske,» the message says.
No casualties among the Ukrainian troops have been reported over the past day.
According to intelligence data, three occupiers were killed and another two were wounded.
As The Journalist reported, the militants shelled Ukrainian positions 19 times over the past day: three Ukrainian soldiers were wounded.
