Militants mounted 30 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in past day: one Ukrainian soldier was killed

Over the past 24 hours, on June 26, militants violated ceasefire 30 times, 11 times using weapons proscribed under the Minsk Peace Agreements in the zone of the Joint Forces Operation in Donbas. The attacks led to one Ukrainian serviceman dying in action, another two were wounded. This is reported by the press center of Ukraine’s Joint Forces Operation (JFO) on Facebook.

«Russian occupation forces shelled Ukrainian positions 30 times. In eleven cases, they used weapons which should be allocated to the distance specified by the Minsk Peace Agreements. units of the Joint Forces conducted an active defense and gave an adequate response to the enemy», – the message said.

In the Luhansk sector, the situation was most tense near the village of Krymske, where militants fired from 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms. The defenders of the village of Novotoshkivske came under fire from 122-mm artillery systems. In addition, militants shelled Ukrainian army positions near the settlements of Zaitseve, Pivdenne, Troyitske, Yekaterynivka, Maiorsk and Orikhove.
In the Donetsk sector, enemy deployed 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms on the positions of defenders of Maryinka. Enemy sniper were active near the settlements of Avdiyivka, Novoselivka Druha and Pisky.
In the Mariupol sector, the Russian-backed mercenaries used grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns and small arms. The enemy shelled the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Lebedynske, Vodiane, Hnutove, Pyshchevyk, Shyrokyne and Starohnativka.
One Ukrainian soldier was killed. In addition, another two received injuries of varying severity.
According to intelligence data, three occupiers were killed and another five wounded.
